(AP) — Authorities say a San Bernardino police officer is hospitalized in grave condition after being shot with an assault rifle and the suspected gunman was killed by the officer's partner. Police officials tell KABC-TV that two officers were fired upon early Friday when they stopped to talk to five men standing outside a home in a residential neighborhood. Lieutenant Richard Lawhead says one of the men pulled out an AK-47 and immediately opened fire on the officers as they approached.
