By Doug LivingstonBeacon Journal education writerThree labor unions, Ohio’s largest parent-teacher association and five other groups have asked that a chain of charter schools, currently under investigation by Ohio and the FBI, not be allowed to stay open another year.In a letter sent Wednesday, Policy Matters and eight other groups have asked Columbus-based Buckeye Community Hope Foundation to cancel sponsorship of charter schools managed by Chicago-based Concept Schools.The sponsor, one of seven private groups that approve and monitor charter schools instead of the state, oversees nine of the 19 Ohio charter schools managed by Concept Schools.
