U.S. railroads hauled an average of 16,000 carloads of crude oil per week in July, a 9 percent increase from January, according to the Association of American Railroads. Daily U.S. crude oil production topped 8.5 million barrels in June, the latest month available, according to the EIA. Every train car holds about 700 barrels of crude oil and about 759,000 barrels of crude oil per day were moved by trail in the first seven months of 2014. Got Energy?
