Oklahoma City University Kicks Off Opera And Music Theater Season With 'side Show'

By Brandy McDonnellOklahoma City University is kicking off its 67th consecutive season of opera and music theater Friday through Sunday with the bittersweet Broadway musical “Side Show.”Inspired by the true-life story of conjoined twin sisters Daisy and Violet Hilton, who performed on the vaudeville and burlesque circuit in the 1920s and ‘30s, the season opener will feature a cast of 30 and a 19-piece orchestra, according to a news release.Read more on NewsOK.com

Another Denver brewery calls it quits — this one after 13 years

The wave of recent local brewery closings has pulled another into the undertow. On Monday, Renegade Brewing Co. (925 W. Ninth Ave., Denver) announced it will close in just a couple of weeks, on May 3. The social media post suggested the closure came as a surprise to ownership. Michael Mulcahy, managing partner with Silver Fox Partners, which owns the brewery in the Art District on Santa Fe, declined to elaborate on factors that played into the closure.
