Oscar-nominated Costume Designer Janet Patterson Has Died

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Costume designer Janet Patterson, a four-time Oscar nominee for period films like Bright Star, ''The Portrait of a Lady and The Piano, has died. The press shy Patterson frequently collaborated with directors Jane Campion and Gillian Armstrong, and became known for her sumptuous 19th century costume creations.
