By Abby BittermanStaff writerabitterman@oklahoman.comNORMAN — When OU takes the field Friday for its first home softball tournament of the season, there will be several familiar faces in the Sooner dugout.But they won’t be the ones wearing uniforms.Kelsey Arnold, Falepolima Aviu, Shay Knighten, Paige Parker and Sydney Romero are all back at OU but in new roles as student and volunteer assistants.The former standout players bring back with them a wealth of experience and knowledge — having won two national championships together.“I miss them playing, but I'm really thrilled that they're in our dugout to help with their experience,” OU coach Patty Gasso said.“They're good teachers, and they want to be coaches, and I think that's really important.Read more on NewsOK.com
