As a fourth-grader growing up in Tulsa, Carney was so infatuated by the action-thriller that she dressed up as the female heroine — an aspiring and adventurous Egyptologist — for Halloween that year. "I was originally super-interested in ancient Egyptian history and wanted to be Indiana Jones," she said. More than 12 years later, the University of Oklahoma senior is coming pretty close to living her childhood dream.
