Colorado Gov. Jared Polis was a hit at the Outdoor Retailer summer market Wednesday, shaking hands, stopping for photos and slapping on a pair of Colorado flag-themed shoes from now Colorado-based company Altra during a stroll through the exhibit hall floor. The main thing Polis wanted to talk about after the visit — and the main thing he said he heard about from businesses there — was the hit Colorado companies are taking at the hands of tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump’s administration. “It’s always fun to see next summer’s technology today and all of the amazing developments in thermal sleeping bags and in backpacks and really the evolution of technology,” Polis said after a tour that brought him by the booths for Colorado companies including Nite Ize, Osprey and Sea to Summit.
