Overcrowded Animal Shelter In Yukon Draws Concerns

By Matt Patterson Staff Writer mpatterson@oklahoman.comYUKON — A no-kill animal shelter that bills itself as a harbor for pets awaiting adoption is overcrowded, with some dogs and cats being kept in undersized cages for up to 23 hours a day, current and former workers say. Pets and People Humane Society was created in 1990 as a therapy program where volunteers visited local nursing homes with their dogs to cheer up residents.Read more on NewsOK.com
