Padres' Kennedy Back From Paternity Leave, Campos Optioned

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The San Diego Padres reinstated right-handed pitcher Ian Kennedy from paternity leave and optioned right-hander Leonel Campos to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday. Kennedy (6-9, 4.44 ERA) starts his 20th game of the season Wednesday night in the third of four games against the Milwaukee Brewers. Campos (0-0, 9.00) heads to El Paso after appearing in one game for the Padres, allowing a run on one hit in an inning of work. Kennedy and his wife, Allison, celebrated the birth of their fourth daughter on Friday.
