Parking Fees May Double Near Manitou Incline, Barr Trail

Into the first week of the Manitou Incline's 3 1/2-month closure for repairs, the street corridor leading to the mega popular hike is less congested than usual. And discussions about keeping it that way have sparked at City Hall. Manitou Springs City Council members on Tuesday received a Parking Authority Board recommendation that, if approved next month by the council, would double the current hourly fee along Ruxton Avenue and would make roadside parking on the weekends reserved for residents only.
