UNION – A patient was airlifted to a hospital Friday afternoon after crashing into a fertilizer spreader vehicle in Union. The car hit the fertilizer spreader and went underneath it about 4:45 p.m. east of North Union Road and Route 176, Marengo Fire Lt. Rodney Waits said. The patient was airlifted by REACT to Mercy Hospital in Rockford, Waits said.
