Pedestrian Deaths Push Stamford To Question Safety

STAMFORD -- A week after Janice Pielert was run down and killed by an SUV while she was walking across Hoyt Street, police officials Monday sat down for the first time with a downtown advisor, public relations expert and a city traffic engineer to come up with a strategy to reduce the number of pedestrians being struck around the city.
