A pedestrian died Thursday evening after being hit by a car on Route 15 in Orrington. At 5:38 p.m. Thursday, the Penobscot Regional Communication Center received a 911 call reporting the incident. When deputies arrived at the scene, the pedestrian had already died, according to Chief Deputy William R. Birch of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office. Part of the River Road in Orrington is shut down due to a serious crash.
