Phone-hijacking Malware Sat On Google Play Store For Weeks, Was Downloaded Over 100,000 Times

Google's Android smartphone operating system may be a lot more flexible than Apple's, but there's a downside to that flexibility: Malware. Hackers have shown an affinity to the Android platform, trying to trick unsuspecting phone owners into downloading software to hijack their device. A few months ago, a fake Angry Birds Space game that delivered a malware payload found its way to the Google Play store.
