Portland’s fire chief is resigning, according to a statement from the city issued Tuesday afternoon. Jerome LaMoria, chief since January 2013, will resign effective Oct. 20, according to a statement from City Manager Jon Jennings. “Chief LaMoria has been a great leader who has overseen the Fire Department during a time period that included a number of organizational changes that will carry the department into the future,” Jennings said in a written statement.
