Jay Bruce hit a tiebreaking homer and drove in two runs to back Johnny Cueto's wild but effective return from the disabled list, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets 4-3 Monday night.

Things looked bleak for the Mets after Shaun Marcum's first inning Monday night. He gave up three quick runs to the Reds, who were aided by an obstruction call against Ike Davis, and he seemed destined for another abbreviated start.
