WENTWORTH, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina prosecutor says no charges will be filed against two sheriff’s deputies in the death of a man killed in front of his family. Rockingham County District Attorney Craig Blitzer said Friday that the county deputies have been cleared after his review of a state investigation of the May 29 shooting. Authorities have said the deputies followed Todd Brent Burroughs because they thought his vehicle looked suspicious.
