Prosecutors this afternoon plan to seek removal of the judge presiding over NFL star Adrian Peterson's child abuse case, citing a long-standing feud between the judge and the district attorney's office and an assertion that the judge and Peterson's defense team have a "close relationship." "The State's motion to recuse is a tale of sound and fury, one that is, by turns, long on vitriol and ad hominem attacks, but tellingly short on legal analysis, and utterly silent on legal authority," Hardin wrote in a response to the prosecution's motion Wednesday. Prosecutors asserted an attorney on Peterson's defense team, Brian Wice, appeared on a TV show last year with Case to help Case defend a decision to jail a school teacher "for contempt" after the teacher failed to show up for jury duty in Case's courtroom.
