Punchless Rays Go Quietly In 3-0 Loss To Orioles

BALTIMORE (AP) — In spite of their inability to pull out of a horrific hitting slump, the Tampa Bay Rays are still hovering around .500 and remain in the thick of the AL East race. That's why manager Joe Maddon isn't losing sleep over his team's inability to generate any offense during the first month of the season. Tampa Bay got only six hits Wednesday in a 3-0 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, its third straight defeat. Although the Rays were outscored 10-1 in the rain-abbreviated, two-game series and have scored only 14 runs in their last nine games, they're 7-8 following a 3-5 road trip.
