EZCorp Inc. will lay off 98 workers from its Austin operations – roughly one quarter of its local workforce – as the company exits the payday-lending business to focus more on its core pawn shop division, reports the Austin American-Statesman. According to the report, the Austin-based company notified the Texas Workforce Commission of the impending job cuts in a letter.
