Resident: Lesotho Military Occupies Police Station

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — A security guard in the capital of Lesotho says the military has occupied police stations there and are moving to other districts. Bernard Ntlhoaea, a guard at the U.S. Embassy in Maseru, the capital of the mountainous country located within South Africa's borders, told The Associated Press by telephone that he saw at least one armored personnel carrier on the streets. He said that no radio stations were broadcasting except for the Catholic station, which maintained normal programming. Ntlhoaea said the troops were armed.
