It would appear MGM has seen the kind of money that films with fast cars can generate, and they want in. The studio has just inked a deal with Robert Munic to produce a film based around the world of NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). Munic currently serves as a writer and co-executive producer on the hit television series EMPIRE, and has been tasked with writing the racing film for MGM.MGM has been working on a television series based on NASCAR, and producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey saw an opening to also make a film with the property.
