For his first directing gig, Roberto Orci wants Stars Trek 3 – an ambitious choice for someone who’s never actually helmed a movie before. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have any experience. Orci has worked on numerous films over the past decade. He, along with his longtime partner Alex Kurtzman, have overseen and co-written huge blockbusters like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Mission Impossible III and Star Trek Into Darkness. According to THR, Orci is lobbying hard for the director’s chair on the upcoming thirteenth Star Trek.
