A 36-year-old Brownstown Township woman is facing charges after slamming into the rear end of a stopped vehicle, registering a blood-alcohol level of 0.39 percent and having her children in her back seat during the incident. According to a police report, the incident occurred at about 5 p.m.
Two women who were kicked out of a local hospital for being unruly were arrested in front of the police station for similar behavior. The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. April 22 when two officers in a patrol car observed the women yelling at each other while walking in front of the station.
A manager at a pharmaceutical company called police for help after an intoxicated woman strolled through the store having a loud argument on her cellphone and using profanity. Police came to Walgreens, 23007 Telegraph Road, in Brownstown Township at about 9 p.m. April 7 and arrested a 32-year-old woman from Woodhaven, who was causing a ruckus at the pharmacy counter.
A Melvindale man reported missing Wednesday has been found safe. Glen Richard Howey, 32, who suffers from severe diabetes, had been last seen walking from his father's house at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Melvindale to his own home on Council Street in Lincoln Park. Howey's diabetes often causes him to black out and not remember who he is or what he is doing, police said.
A semi-tractor trailer crash led to a HAZMAT situation at 6:15 a.m. today on I-94 near Merriman Road in Romulus. Michigan State Police officers responded to an emergency call when the truck drove across the median from the westbound lanes, went airborne and came to a stop in the eastbound lanes.
