Two firefighters and a friend have been charged in a string of altercations that occurred the afternoon of March 15 in the city's Pioneer Square neighborhood. City prosecutors pursuing the misdemeanor charges contend Jarvinen, 38, sparked the fracas by attacking a man near the Occidental Park's Fallen Firefighters Memorial. Prosecutors claim Howell, 47, joined in the attack while Bullene, 46, beat up another man who stabbed him defending himself.
