KINGSPORT — In the first baseball game of the summer for Kingsport’s Hammond Post 3 Patriots, everything clicked in a 10-4, five-inning win over Elizabethton Post 49 on Sunday afternoon at Hunter Wright Stadium. The Patriots smashed out 12 hits — 11 of them singles — and Tevin Shelton went 4-for-5 with six RBIs in the American Legion matchup. Colby Taylor also had four hits for the Patriots — three singles and a double — and drove in one run. Brodie Frew pitched 3 2/3 innings — tallying a no-hitter through three frames — but issued two walks.
