Shootings Leave 1 Dead, 7 Injured On West, South, Far South Side

A man has been killed and seven other people injured in shootings on the South, Far South and West Sides on Saturday. A 27-year-old man was pronounced dead after being shot at 5:18 p.m. in the 200 block of West Root Street, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a spokeswoman for the Chicago police.
