Six Tax Issues On Summit County Ballots Aug. 2

Another try at building new schools in Manchester will be among six tax issues facing Summit County voters in the special election Aug. 2.An issue summary reported Wednesday by the Summit County Board of Elections indicates tax proposals, including increases in Macedonia, New Franklin and Northfield Center, would provide for mostly municipal services, from road and sewer projects to normal operating expenses.The list includes municipal income tax increases in Macedonia (which would raise the current tax rate from 2 to 2½ percent) and New Franklin (from 1 to 2 percent).
