From Staff ReportsThe South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce held its Excellence in Education Banquet last month at the Moore Norman Technology Center's South Penn Campus. The banquet was presented by Cox Communications, Frontier State Bank and Sonic Corp., according to a news release. Outstanding educators and students were honored for their work in the 2016-2017 school year. Award winners were as follows: Administrator of the year award, presented by MidFirst Bank: Laura Morris, principal of Cesar Chavez Elementary. Teacher of the year award, presented by OKC Thunder: Hart Brown, of VISTA Academy in Moore. Student of the year award, presented by Cox Communications and Oklahoma City Community College: Miguel Chavez, Western Heights High School. Read more on NewsOK.com
