Steven Spielberg is adding another film to his growing list of prospective projects. Variety reports that Spielberg has joined The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara as a producer and, possibly, director. Written by Tony Kushner, the scribe behind Spielberg's Munich and Lincoln, the screenplay is based on author David Kertzer's book of the same name. The story tells the true-life account of a young Italian Jew taken from his parents by the Church in 1858 and raised as a Catholic.
