Spring Shrimp Season To Close For Inshore Waters Sunday

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said Thursday inshore shrimping will end from the Mississippi/Louisiana state line to the western shore of the Freshwater Bayou Canal in Vermilion Parish. Data collected by biologists in recent weeks show an increased quantity and percentage of small, juvenile white shrimp in these waters and the season will be closed to protect these shrimp and provide an opportunity for growth.
