Skydance Media is said to be looking to relaunch the Spy Kids franchise with both Spyglass Media Group and original creator Robert Rodriguez. As reported by Deadline, Rodriguez will return to write and direct the next film, which is said to "revolve around the activities of a multicultural family." Skydance will be the lead studio and will oversee development and production, while Spyglass' Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre will executive produce. The first Spy Kids film was released in 2001 and saw many sequels and and a TV series in the following years.
