EnLink Midstream Partners is building a $40 million Redbud pipeline system to gather and transport crude oil from Marathon Oil Co.'s operations in the STACK. The pipe is designed to connect to EnLink's Black Coyote system, which serves Devon Energy Corp.'s Showboat project. EnLink has extensive natural gas networks, but Black Coyote and Redbud are the company's first oil pipes in the area. A $40 million investment in rural Oklahoma is newsworthy by itself, but it is only the latest in a string of pipeline announcements serving oil and natural gas production in northwest Oklahoma's STACK and south central Oklahoma's SCOOP fields. Both plays are part of the Cana Woodford basin, which is the country's third most active field, boasting 72 active drilling rigs, according to Baker Hughes.Read more on NewsOK.com
