Freshman State Rep. Roger Freeman, 48, D-Federal Way, died Wednesday following a  lengthy struggle with colon cancer. Gov. Jay Inslee described Freeman as “professional, eloquent and kind hearted,” saying he was “fully committed to his work despite the battle he faced with cancer.” Freeman’s death comes less than a week before the November election.  He has been in a competitive race with Republican Jack Dovey in the 30th District.
