Spielberg isn't just Bumblebee's executive producer; he was also apparently the film's idea man. “The original idea for this film actually was Steven ,” Director Travis Knight told Yahoo Movies UK. “We can thank him for this film even existing.” Bumblebee is the first spin-off movie from the Transformers franchise – and Spielberg served as executive producer on all five of the previous movies. As it's a prequel to those films, Bumblebee will obviously have a similar look and feel.
