It’s easy to believe that some of the more environmentally friendly companies would leave the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) based on the council’s fossil fuel positive leaning, but how about an carbon-generating oil company? In the wake of Microsoft, Google, Yelp and Yahoo’s recent departure from the council, Occidental Petroleum parted ways with ALEC after investors expressed concern about the anti-renewables group.
