Golden Gardens brings back memories of an ill-spent youth, though I never did any jail time. Back in the days, the park used to be where everyone with a hot car showed up for the street races on beautiful summer evening.
Anyone's first stop in Zillah, a city of 3,033, should be at the old Teapot Dome Service Station. It dates to 1922, in honor of the Teapot Dome scandal, the Watergate of its era in the nation's capital.
The other main exhibit (shown in photographs here) is "Paint: The Works of Lyle Wilson," which runs through Sunday, July 6. Tribal painting is frequently shown on three-dimensional carved wood, but Wilson's art in this show is on flat cedar boards.

The tree was completely across Southeast Taylor Street, just west of 38th Avenue, in the mixing zone of the Sunnyside and Hawthorne neighborhoods. A city crew had marked the area as a do-not enter site.
