'Vampires Suck' opening tops boxoffice

The parody movie "Vampires Suck," the Regency production which Fox opened wide on Wednesday, shot to the top of the day's boxoffice chart, where it commanded the No. 1 spot for the day.

Senh: I hate these movies. They need to stop. People need to stop watching them. Since it only made $4M on Wednesday, beating the week old "The Expendables" by just $1M, it probably won't stand a chance on being number one this weekend. Good thing.

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" was back at the top of the domestic boxoffice Friday, following a one-day slip to second place on Thanksgiving. The second in a planned series of pics based on teen novels by Stephenie Meyer, "New Moon" rung up $17.9 million Friday for a cumulative boxoffice of $206.1 million through its first eight days in release.
