Twitter begins larger rollout of enhanced brand pages

Twitter on Wednesday switched on enhanced brand pages for accounts owned by National Public Radio, NBC News, Volkswagen, and others. This is the first batch of premium Twitter pages from companies other than the handful of launch partners who unveiled enhanced brand pages in December.

Rupert Murdoch joins Twitter

A phone hacking scandal may have cost Rupert Murdoch his biggest-selling newspaper in 2011, but the billionaire media mogul managed to end the year with a modest addition to his empire -- an account on Twitter.

Senh: Rupert Murdoch has a Twitter account! I wonder if he has a MySpace account. I also wonder if this means anything else - i.e. that he's actually interested in the microblogging site.

 

Trending: Tweets show global happiness down

Our overall happiness is apparently in decline. How do we know? It's on Twitter. A team of mathematicians from the University of Vermont analyzed 4.6 billion Twitter messages worldwide over 33 months. They assigned happiness grades to more than 10,000 of the most common words, crunched all the numbers and plotted them on a graph that shows a gradual downward slope during the past year and a half or so, through mid-September.

Saudi Prince Invests $300M in Twitter

Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and his investment company said Monday they are investing a combined $300 million into Twitter, giving the microblogging site a cash boost as it looks to entice more users and paying advertisers.

Senh: Twitter can't go public until they can demonstrate some kind of revenue stream. Looks like they're getting private money to make that happen. Without a decent revenue stream, they can't go public. They can, but it would probably tank after the initial round of trading.

Just Noticed I Can Login to Multiple Google Accounts Now

I just noticed today that there's an option to sign in to multiple Google accounts. I have a personal Google account and a couple business accounts. Now, I don't have to sign off from one to use the other. There's an option to switch accounts next to your username at the top right corner. I mostly only use GMail and Google Docs. I wonder if they just launched that today, or I've just never noticed it. Anyway, it's awesome.
