Orlando Magic, Andre Iguodala | featured news

Dwight Howard traded to Lakers in 4-team deal

Dwight Howard

The deal means the Lakers get Howard; the Magic get Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, just drafted Moe Harkless (No. 15 pick in this draft) and a first round pick from each of the three other teams; the Sixers get Andrew Bynum and take on Jason Richardson and his contract; the Nuggets get Andre Iguodala. That varies from the original report but fits with reports that Pau Gasol is not part of the deal. Expect some changes in the final form, but that seems to be the core of it.

Senh: This is just not fair. I thought the new CBA is supposed to keep trades like this from happening. I guess not. Essentially, the Los Angeles Lakers only had to give up Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard. Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, and Dwight Howard. My goodness. Respectively, the best shooting point guard, the best closer, and the most dominant center. Just hand them another title now.

Shocker: Magic blow 18-point lead, fall to 76ers

Andre Iguodala waited for the clock to tick down, took a few dribbles to his right and let go a high-arching jumper. Swish! The Magic were stunned, their fans silenced. For the Philadelphia 76ers, it was the sweet sound of stealing home-court advantage.
