Back in June, Sigourney Weaver revealed that the three Avatar sequels are going to be shooting back-to-back-to-back, but it looks like that's no longer the case. Speaking with the Courier Post (via Comingsoon), producer Jon Landau said “[w]e doing two back-to-back, but not a third.”

James Cameron will start writing the scripts for two "Avatar" sequels early next year, aiming to land the first one in theaters four years from now.
