According to the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, since the passage of Prop 30 in the November election, California-based company relocation inquiries have doubled, possibly tripled, in Central Texas. West Coast entrepreneurs feeling the personal financial stress of an out-of-control state budget and tax policy have heard Texas’ message, and they’re responding.

Rick Perry joined one other Republican governor and several GOP advisers in saying presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney should release his tax returns because transparency works best. “I’m a big believer that no matter who you are or what office you’re running for, you should be as transparent as you can be with your tax returns and other aspects of your life,” Perry said.

Republican Rick Perry outlined a broad economic proposal on Monday to let Americans pay a flat 20 percent income tax rate and allow corporations to bring profits home from abroad at a discount.

Senh: As long as there's no loopholes for the rich and there's an exemption for the poor, I don't mind it. The rich do get a huge tax cut from this though, but they're probably getting it anyway from the current tax code with all of its exemptions and loopholes.
