A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that the Philadelphia Phillies and closer Jonathan Papelbon have agreed to a $50 million, four-year contract.

Turns out the Philadelphia Phillies do have enough money for both Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay - and Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels, too. A year after Phillies traded him away, Lee chose to rejoin them and form a fearsome foursome that is the envy of all of baseball.

 

Phillies, Hamels agree on three-year deal

Cole Hamels has agreed to a three-year, $20.5 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, three people familiar with the negotiations said Saturday.
