TV Ratings: 'Big Bang Theory' leads CBS Thursday, while 'Hannibal' premiere struggles

"American Idol" had its first positive week-to-week news in a while, but still got crushed by CBS' "The Big Theory," which was also up from its last airing and let the network to Thursday wins in all measures.

Reality TV Ratings: 'Dancing With The Stars, 'The Voice' Still Have Legs

Two popular reality shows made a splash upon their re-entry during the past week – and a new one had a strong debut. A new episode of "Dancing With the Stars" premiered on ABC last week before 17 million viewers, just behind CBS drama "NCIS" as the week's most popular program. It was down to 14.5 million Monday night, facing competition from the return of "The Voice" on NBC.

'Modern,' 'Chicago' score ratings firsts

Modern Family

Fox's "American Idol" continues to lose ratings ground on Wednesday, with ABC's "Modern Family" appearing to have edged it out as the night's top show among young adults for the first time. In another first, NBC's rookie drama "Chicago Fire" edged past CBS vet "CSI" to win the 10 o'clock hour in demos.

'Celebrity Wife Swap' gets biggest ratings ever with Kate Gosselin

Kate Gosselin

Kate Gosselin and Kendra Wilkinson set a ratings record for ABC on Tuesday night, while CBS’ latest detective drama delivered less-than golden numbers. The second season premiere of ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap saddled Playboy pinup Wilkinson with Gosselin’s famed mega-litter (if only you could buy patience at Costco). The show was seen by 7 million viewers and had a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49. That’s up 4 percent from last year’s preview of the celebrity version of Wife Swap last year (and up 14 percent from last year’s regular Tuesday premiere) and represents an all-time high for the show among both viewers and the demo. Next week, “wives” Coolio and Mark McGrath do a swap.

TV Ratings: 'Big Bang' leads Thursday for CBS, while ABC's 'Scandal' rise continues

"The Big Bang Theory" led yet another easy Thursday win for CBS both overall and among young viewers, but as has been the case for several weeks, the night's most intriguing story is ABC's "Scandal" hitting yet another series high.

'Charlie Brown' at four-year high

Charlie Brown

It's remarkable how strong the Charlie Brown specials continue to perform in the ratings, year after year. "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" is not the most popular entry in the beloved animated franchise (both "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and It's the "Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" deliver bigger numbers). Yet the program still managed to hold its own against CBS' "Survivor" and Fox's "The X-Factor" (in fact, the special edged out Factor in total viewers, see below). Plus,"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" delivered its biggest audience in four years — 8.1 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in the adult demo, up 22 percent from last year. Pretty spry for a 39-year-old repeat, huh?

Miley Cyrus Boosts Two and a Half Men Ratings, Beauty and the Beast Takes Ugly Turn

Miley Cyrus

Behind every great Two and a Half Men episode, there's a great (and very blond) woman! That's the takeaway from last night's TV ratings, given that Miley Cyrus' first guest appearance on Ashton Kutcher's CBS sitcom lead the show to season-high numbers. Her debut episode brought in 13.6 million viewers and a 4.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo, a 14 percent jump from last week.

CBS drops suit against ABC over 'Glass House' show

The Glass House

CBS has dropped its lawsuit against ABC over its reality series "The Glass House," citing the show's low viewership numbers as a reason it is no longer interested in the case.

RATINGS RAT RACE: Olympics Slip Slightly On Day 3, ‘Bachelor Pad’ & ‘Glass House’ Hit Lows

NBC won the night among adults 18-49 and in total viewers with 31.42 million watching. Meanwhile, ABC had a two-hour new Bachelor Pad (1.1/3), followed by a new The Glass House (0.6/2) at 10 PM. Bachelor Pad was down 27% from last week for the reality show’s lowest rating ever. The Glass House was down 25% from last week’s show, also hitting its lowest rating to date. On CBS, it was an evening of repeats with How I Met Your Mother (0.9/3), 2 Broke Girls (1.0/3), Two And A Half Men (1.1/3), Mike & Molly (1.1/3) and Hawaii Five-O (0.9/2).
