During an intense 12 minutes, the 1895 artwork - a modern symbol of human anxiety - was sold at Sotheby's in New York City on Wednesday for a record $119,922,500. Neither the buyer's name nor any details about the buyer was released.

Private collector William Koch buys the only known tintype of the Old West outlaw. It is believed to have been made in New Mexico around 1880. What is believed to be the only surviving authenticated portrait of Billy the Kid went up for auction in Denver on Saturday and sold for $2.3 million.
