An Oklahoma high school student is in custody on charges he plotted to bomb and shoot students at the Bartlesville High School auditorium on the same day 26 people were shot and killed at an elementary school in Connecticut.

Jake England told investigators he shot three of the five victims, while Alvin Watts told police he shot the other two, according to the incident report provided by police.

Police arrested two men suspected in a deadly shooting rampage that terrorized Tulsa's African-American community, and said online postings indicated one may have been trying to avenge his father's death....

The two men, ages 19 and 32, did not offer resistance when taken into custody, police say. Three people were killed and two wounded in the attacks.

Tulsa's black community was on edge Saturday after police said the same attacker or attackers were behind a series of shootings a day earlier that left three people dead and two more critically wounded.

A sheriff's deputy and two other people were wounded Wednesday afternoon during an exchange of gunfire outside a courthouse plaza in Tulsa, police said. Police spokesman Leland Ashley said authorities responded to a report of a person firing into the air between the Tulsa County Courthouse and the library. Deputies, including the one who was wounded, exchanged gunfire with the shooter, Ashley said.

Home alone with her 3-month-old son, Sarah Dawn McKinley of Blanchard, Oklahoma, said she decided to make a stand when two men tried to break into her home on New Year's Eve.
