Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin has won a special election for governor in West Virginia, overcoming Republican attempts to tie him to President Barack Obama and the health care plan.

Byrd, 91, Hospitalized After Falling in Home

Ambulances and fire trucks raced to the home of the 91-year-old West Virginia Democrat, the longest-serving senator in U.S. history. He was taken to a hospital but has not been admitted.
