Back in June, Sigourney Weaver revealed that the three Avatar sequels are going to be shooting back-to-back-to-back, but it looks like that's no longer the case. Speaking with the Courier Post (via Comingsoon), producer Jon Landau said “[w]e doing two back-to-back, but not a third.”

Paramount Pictures announced Tuesday that Cruise will be back in front of the camera for "Mission: Impossible IV," due in theaters over Memorial Day weekend in 2011. Cruise and "Mission: Impossible III" director J.J. Abrams previously agreed to produce a fourth movie in the action franchise. But it had not been known if Cruise would star again.

 

Cameron Not Interested In Spider-Man

As I watched Cameron and his long flowing silver hair accepting awards on behalf of "Avatar" for "Best Director" & "Best Dramatic Picture" last night at the "Golden Globes", I couldn't help but wonder how big this guy's head could get. I almost want to hate him; part of me does, not because he is a bad person or a bad director but because he is so damn successful.

"Sin City 2," "Hard Boiled" Updates

Producer Stephen L'Heureux tells Mania.com that a "Sin City" sequel aims to go into production in the second half of next year. The sequel will be based on an original script by Miller who co-directs with Robert Rodriguez. Miller is also attached to direct and is working on the screenplay for "Hard Boiled", based on the comic about an insurance investigator-turned-cyborg assassin.

 

Jackman Hints at Wolverine Sequel

Hugh Jackman either lives in a bubble or an alternate universe in which the feature film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, stole the box office as well as the hearts of Marvel fans and mainstream audiences everywhere. Either that or he likes to terrorize children. At least, those are the only explanations I have for his statement at this weekend's Teen Choice Awards. Holding his surfboard award proudly, Jackman threatened the assembled with, "Who knows?
