The pace of job creation by private employers accelerated more than expected in February, a report by a payrolls processor showed on Wednesday.

Private businesses added a stronger number of jobs in June than expected, according to ADP, while new claims for jobless benefits fell last week.

The report, slightly exceeding economists’ expectations, added to hope that hiring was finally on a steadier track.

In a sign that the state's struggling labor market may be strengthening, 14,200 positions were added by employers in April, the second straight month of expansion.
